As the entry process for the 2023 London Wine Competition gets underway we look back at the best performing wines from the 2022 awards by picking out the wines that scored the most points, and came top in the individual quality, value and packaging and design categories. The London Wine Competition prides itself on judging wines in the same way that consumer do – what they taste like, how much they cost and what they look like.

As we get ready for the spittoons to be brought out and the judging to start for the 2023 London Wine Competition we take a look back on what happened in the 2022 event and which were the wines that most appealed to the judges in terms of their overall quality, but also their value for money, packaging and design. The key criteria any wine entering the awards are judged on.

To ensure every wine that is awarded a medal or trophy in the competition is of the highest possible standard the event only uses professional buyers as judges and those who are making decisions on a daily basis about what wines to select for their restaurants, bars, retail stores or import businesses. The Buyer

The entry process for the London Wine Competition 2023 is now open and offers a number of different packages based on when wine businesses decide to enter. These include:

  • £75 Super Early Bird – May 2 to August 31, 2022
  • £85 Special – September 1 to October 16, 2022
  • £95 Early Bird – October 17 to Dec 9, 2022
  • £110 Regular – December 10 to Feb 22, 2023
