Domaine Gayda
Domaine Gayda was built in 1749 as a Staging Post for travellers where horses were refreshed and changed. The farm buildings have since been converted into luxury accommodation.
Owners Tim Ford and Anthony Record joined forces with winemaker Vincent Chansault in 2004, creating the modern face of wine from the region.
On the site of the famous “l’arbre de Moscou”, we built the winery, restaurant and Boutique. This iconique tree got its name from the land registry title of the vineyards surrounding the Domaine. The tree was a navigation beacon used by the ‘Aeropostale’ pioneers of the air postal service made famous by pilots such as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Domaine Gayda has a passion for the traditional ‘cépages’ grown across the many diverse soils and climates situated throughout the Languedoc. Also, varietals such as Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc have been planted at the home farm where the climatic influences of the Atlantic allows these imported varieties to flourish While the vineyards are firmly rooted in tradition and “terroirs”, the winery itself is all about the innovation, with investments in all the latest equipment and technology ensuring vinification and maturation is carried out in optimum conditions.
In the largest wine region of the world, Domaine Gayda strives to create wine with provenance and a sense of “being” that is a true reflection of the quality and diversity of the Languedoc Roussillon.

“Quality through integrity”
Domaine Gayda delivers wines of exceptional quality to our customers worldwide. We are a small passionate team focused on quality, achieving goals that we set high enough to challenge us in all that we do.
We pride ourselves in creating value in all our wines, striving to exceed the expectations of our customers. We firmly believe that creating a definable quality is paramount and fundamental to the Domaine. These principles are reflected throughout our range… honest wines, understandable wines, great value wines, all made with a deep passion in what we do, reflecting who we are.
Our terroir
More than just the vines around the winery, our vineyards spread across the Languedoc, benefiting from the incredible “terroirs” of the region. From limestone to granite, from slate to sandstone, each soil type adding to the specific character that Domaine Gayda seeks out in the unique diversity of this stunning landscape.
Investments
Cooling systems have been installed to reduce the use of sulphites, concrete, terracotta and clay are being used for maturation of the wines along with oak “foudres”.
As well as having all the latest technology available, with our pioneering spirit we develop and move forward with our curious minds to create our distinctive range of quality wines, blending tradition with innovation.
