    About Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte

Founded in 1976 in the heart of the Côte des Blancs hillsides, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte is the youngest of the major Champagne Houses, and the biggest growers’ brand. It embodies the commitment and passion of its 4,500 wine growers’ members spread on the entire Appellation.

In the course of only 40 years, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte has quickly reached the first rank in France – and is currently third worldwide.

This success is a beautiful story about two visionaries. On the one hand, Henri Macquart, founding father of the Centre Vinicole de la Champagne; and on the other, Nicolas Feuillatte, a gifted businessman from a family of wine and spirits négociants. Having already made his fortune importing coffee from Africa to the US.

Together, with all the dedicated cooperative vignerons, they risked everything to create a brand of excellence: Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.

The Kennedys and Aristote Onassis were among the first customers. In 1986, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte already featured in the top 10 imported champagnes on the US market. Thirty years later, it has become a global sensation.

Nicolas Feuillatte’s manifesto: champagne is a wine made in a unique terroir. It does not just need to be reserved for exceptional circumstances. For Nicolas Feuillatte, luxury is about elegance and attitude, emotion and pleasure. It is meant to be shared and to enchant life during the most cherished moments.

The range of champagnes Nicolas Feuillatte is diverse, as is the richness and the diversity of the terroirs: an exceptional supply from 2,100 hectares across the entire Appellation from the Vallée de la Marne to the Côte des Bar via the Montagne de Reims, Côte de Sézanne and the Vallée de l’Ardre. Cellar Master Guillaume Roffiaen benefits 11 of the 17 Grands Crus, and 26 of the 42 Premiers Crus to create his wines.

Drawing their strength and full flavours from a remarkable array of crus, enhanced by the subtle art of blending, Nicolas Feuillatte champagnes reflect the harmony, finesse and freshness of this unique region – with its hillsides, Houses and cellars listed on Unesco’s World Heritage.

Perfectly ripe grapes make up the champagnes, vinified individually by cru and by grape varieral (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier). Sandy soils create supple, light and fruity wines; soilson marl and limestone clay ally structure while chalk brings minerality and complex aromas that develop over time. And since quality requires time and cannot be rushed, ageing of each Nicolas Feuillatte champagne exceeds the minimum legal limit of three years to rest for up to ten years for the prestige cuvée Palmes d’Or.

The new range of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, blended especially for the on-trade is now available in the UK, distributed by Castelnau Wine Agencies. « Our existence in the UK was, of late, exclusively confined to retail. Our job is to share our savoir-faire with consumers who really appreciate fine champagnes – just like in other parts of the world where we perform well, » commented Christophe Juarez, Managing Director of the Centre Vinicole – Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte.
